Wellness policies

This isWe’re changing the way people view intentional self-care, by encouraging people to be proactive when it comes to their own health and feeling guilt-free about investing in themselves. Sloco is part of the movement of disrupting our industry as we know it by building a new wellness model that helps people optimize their health and wellbeing, even during a time when close contact unfortunately poses a risk to public health. Massage and facials will be at the heart of our offerings once it is safe to do so, until then we’re delivering a full-range of unique therapies and services designed to maximize relaxation, recovery, mobility, mental clarity, and personal joy.

Sloco practices high standards when it came to cleanliness, however we have adjusted some of our practice to help keep everyone safe. We want our guests and employees to feel safe, so there are two things that we want to share to help you feel comfortable in our space.

RESPECT FOR PERSONAL HEALTH

At Sloco, we believe that taking personal responsibility for your health is important, and that looks different for each person. That being said, we do not require our team members to get vaccinated in order to keep their job. We ask that you respect the privacy of our team members are not ask them about vaccinations, just like we won’t ask you. Sloco is meant to be a sanctuary for each and every one of us to work towards staying healthy.

Commitment to Sustainability

At Sloco, we promise to make every effort to make decisions with the personal and planetary wellness in mind. Experts estimate that over 189 million disposable masks will be used in the spa industry alone in just one year. Switching to reusable will bring that number down to less than 4 million! Sloco has only used fabric face coverings that can be laundered and reused. Sloco has committed to the Hospitality Lifecycle textile recycling initiative, which is where the masks will go once they are worn out. We also are dedicated to using safe products within the our doors to keep indoor air pollution to a minimum.

Air PurificatioN

Sloco uses the Reme Halo Air Purification system which uses Reflective Electro Magnetic Energy technology, producing hydroperoxides which occur naturally in the earth’s atmosphere and are part of nature’s process of cleaning the air. This gives faster kill rates for microbial contaminants in the air as well as on surfaces. It even kills 99% of germs before they reach 3′! Unlike passive air technologies, which need pollutants to pass through the unit for purification or filtration, the REME HALO® in-duct air purifier sweeps through the building actively purifying pollutants at the source. In addition, the charged plasma induces particles to coagulate or stick together making them bigger and easier for your filter to catch. In addition, each treatment room has a HEPA-13 filter to help improve air circulation.

Face COVERINGS

We’re grateful that we have an advanced air purification system for our building. This will allow us to care for those guests who are in pain or need self-care since that reduces sneeze germs by 99% before 3’ and it even kills 99% of what might land on a surface. We just don’t want anyone to feel bad for having asthma or COPD or anything that may prevent them from wearing a face covering, should regulations change. Stress and anxiety really impact the immune system and our goal is to help keep our community healthy! We feel confident that we’ll be able to keep our guests and our team safe by physical distancing in those situations.

Non-Toxic Disinfectants

We read every ingredient of each product before bringing it into the building. MANY products have ingredients that are considered toxic and can build up in your body over time. We’ll get into cleaning and retail products later.

We use a botanical disinfectant which needs to sit on surfaces for at least 30 seconds and doesn’t need to be wiped down. It is made from thymol, derived from real thyme (more disinfectants just manufacture thymol in a lab) and is EPA Registered for being effective against the coronavirus.

Laundry Sanitization

Our process for laundry includes the use of ozonated water, which sanitizes laundry without the use of harsh chemicals.

Before your appointment…

Even if you’ve been to Sloco before, you will need to fill out a digital intake form which will be sent to you via text and email. We ask that you review and complete this before your appointment.

Within this form, it states that you agree to self-check for illness before coming in for your appointment. We are of course concerned with any sort of contagious illness, but we ask that you pay close attention to symptoms of COVID-19 such as:

Fever or chills
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea

If you or anyone in your household have these symptoms, we ask that you cancel your appointment at the earliest signs of symptoms.

At this time, we encourage you to bring your own water bottle, filled, with you to your appointment.

We appreciate your honesty and ask that our guests remember to be kind to one another during this time.

Checking In

Normally, we love to chat with our guests and encourage early arrival, however at this time, we ask that you arrive just a couple minutes before the start of your appointment, as long as you’ve completed your digital intake ahead of time. Our goal is to get you into your service shortly after your arrival. We will still have a strict policy when it comes to late arrivals, so we encourage you to continue to plan on parking 5 minutes early to make sure you don’t feel rushed.

Cryotherapy

A mask is required in the cryotherapy chamber, no exceptions. There is for your comfort to prevent your breath from freezing on your face or too much cold air causing your airways to constrict. 100% air exchange each time the door is opened between sessions, and at extreme temperatures, we believe that any potential virus would be inactive.

Salt Therapy

Salt therapy is one service that you will need to remove your mask (if you’re wearing one) for in order to receive the benefits. We have a designated tray for you to place your face covering. Always practice proper etiquette by using coughing and sneezing into a tissue during your session.

Infrared Sauna

Our infrared sauna is in a private setting, meaning up to three people within the same group can use the sauna at the same time. A HEPA-13 filter is running in the sauna room itself to clear the air.

Somadome

The seat of the Somadome is made up of an anti-microbial fabric.
