In our infrared sauna, it’s okay to sweat the small stuff. In fact, we want you to do that! The Sunlighten infrared sauna produces three types of infrared waves that heats your body’s core temperature rather than just heating the air, which allows for a more comfortable experience. Think: Laying on a beach in Hawaii. This building of heat from within allows your body to detox more effectively.
In a traditional sauna, you sweat out 97% water and only 3% toxins. In our infrared sauna, you’ll sweat out 80% toxins and only 20% water! By detoxifying your body of toxic substances such as heavy metals, oils, dirt, and bacteria, you are preventing your body from building up toxins that could potentially lead to disease and illness down the road.
Unlike a traditional sauna, infrared heats the body directly. Air temperature in the sauna is not as important as the type and quality of the infrared being received. The cooler the surface area of the heater, the more far infrared energy will be produced. The ideal range is between 110-130 degrees. The higher the temperature, the more water you’ll sweat compared to excreting more toxins.
Near infrared waves penetrate the outer most layer of skin, which means that it’s great for skin rejuvenation, wound healing, and overall skin health. These waves can boost collagen growth and stimulate white blood cell production by increasing energy at a cellular level.
Mid infrared waves penetrate deeper into the skin, leading to an increase in circulation. This boost in circulation has similar effects as a cardiovascular workout. You can burn up to 600 calories in one session, which can aid in weight loss and a boost in metabolism.
Far infrared waves heat your body’s core which means a more productive sweat. Since these waves penetrate at a cellular level, it allows for deeper detoxification. Far infrared can also help with lowering blood pressure.

Starts at a high intensity to increases the body’s core temperature then reduces to a low, comfortable intensity level. IR combination improves vascular access flow to reach toxins at the cellular level.
PURE SWEAT | 40 min.

PAIN RELIEF | 30 min.
An IR blend provides natural pain relief by reducing inflammation and swelling while near IR LEDs penetrate the tissue to promote cellular repair at a medium, constant intensity level. Uses near, mid and far infrared waves.
WEIGHT LOSS | 30 min.
Starts at a high intensity to stimulate the cardiovascular system then reduces to a medium level. As the body works to cool itself, there is an increase in heart rate, cardiac output & metabolic rate similar to exercise.
CARDIO | 45 min.
Starts at a high intensity to increase heart rate and cardiac output then lowers to sustain heart rate level. Circulation increases to promote healthy blood pressure. Uses near, mid and far infrared waves.
What to Expect
We provide non-synthetic cotton towels that allow the infrared light waves to flow through, so you can use the wrap if you like, or just go in the nude (we provide towels to sit on as well if they like).
Traditional saunas use high heat to heat the cabin air and a shallow, surface sweat will be produced as the body cools itself. Some infrared sauna heaters also work this way. On the other hand, Sunlighten infrared saunas are not required to run at high heat (60+). The ambient air temperature of the sauna is a personal preference. It has nothing to do with the efficacy of the infrared, which works best between 113 – 136 degrees.
For those new to infrared therapy, it can take time for your body to adjust. During the first sessions some people elicit a shallow sweat. No need to worry. Give your body time to acclimate to infrared and ensure that you stay hydrated. With more use you’ll notice a deep, purifying sweat and an invigorating feeling afterward.
Before Your Session
Hydration is KEY! Please drink plenty of water before your session and be sure to bring a water bottle with you. Please come dressed in clothing that you don’t mind getting sweaty. This could look like a bathing suit or shorts & a t-shirt. However, if you prefer to be fully undressed we provide clean, non-synthetic towels that you can use as a wrap. Please also wear shoes that are easy to remove as there are no shoes permitted inside the sauna. We will provide you with a steam towel to wipe your feet with before getting into the sauna.
We recommend you book a session as needed. Frequency can increase based on goals or if pairing with a Whole Body Detox.
After Your Session
Chilled peppermint towels are available to wipe down with after your session. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and encourage the flushing of toxins, as your body will continue to detox after your session is finished. Try to avoid processed foods and alcohol. Consume mostly whole foods that will replenish any nutrients your body may have lost during your session.
Please do not book this service if you have any of the following conditions:
- Uncontrolled blood pressure
- Diabetes with neuropathy
- Pacemaker or defibrilators
- Central nervous system tumors
- Multiple sclerosis

What do I wear?
Wear anything that you don’t mind getting sweaty. This could look like a bathing suit or shorts & a T-shirt. We also provide a full-body towel for all of our sessions (except for express), so you can choose to use that as a wrap. Since shoes are not permitted in the sauna, we ask that you wear shoes that are easily removed.
Is the sauna included in the membership?
At this time, express infrared saunas are included in Wellness Lifestyle and Mix + Match Memberships, subject to availability availability.
What are the differences between the settings?
There are a few differences between the settings aside from what your wellnes goals are.
1) Duration: The sauna settings range from 30-45 minutes.
2) Temperature: The temperature ranges anywhere from 135-150 degress depending on the program.
3) Infrared: The use and amount of NIR, MIR, and FIR vary for each setting.
