Somadome meditation pod

The Somadome is the perfect way to introduce yourself to meditation or enhance your existing practice. The Somadome uses light, sound and color therapy to transform our body’s state at the cellular level.

Pairs well with any of our services.

benefits of meditation

So many people think that in order to meditate, you have to stop your mind from thinking. Really though, the mind thinks involuntarily just like the heart beats involuntarily. Imagine how silly it would be to sit down and try to give your heart a command to stop beating. It doesn’t work. And yet this is the criteria by which everyone is judging their meditations. Thoughts during meditation indicate that stress is leaving the body, which is the whole point.

But what is meditation? Simply put, meditation is a stress-relieving tool. The scientifically proven benefits of daily meditation are all results of removing a lifetime of old stress from your cellular memory. When you give your body the rest it needs, it knows how to heal itself. One of the things it heals itself from is stress.

So let go of the idea that you don’t have time to meditate. Think of it instead as a reboot for your brain.

more energy

Meditation gives the body deep rest; rest that is 5x deeper than sleep. The time you invest in meditation will come back to you exponentially, in the form of better, deeper sleep (so you’ll need less of it), more energy and  increased productivity.

Stress Management

Stress inhibits our emotional intelligence and creativity. Meditation actually grows the gray matter in parts of the brain that control those things. So use 2% of your day to improve the other 98%!

Improved Health

Benefits of regular meditation can include: lower blood pressure, increased serotonin, tension related pain relief and improved immune function.

This was another great self care experience. It was so interesting. Be open and you will be pleasantly surprised. Meditations are hard but this makes it very easy.

What to Expect

When entering our self care lounge, you will see our Somadome, with headphones provided and even a weighted blanket to help you get comfortable. If it is your first session, a wellness advocate will walk you through how to use the Somadome. Cozy on in and choose your intention you would like to call in, put on the headphones and optional fan, so you can allow the Somadome to work it’s magic allowing you to drift into the zone with ease from the use of energy, sound and color.

Energy
Somadome transforms EMF frequencies that are out of harmony with our bodies’ natural electromagnetic signals. We are constantly inundated with unnatural electromagnetic fields and wave forms created by human-made electronics. These EMF frequencies and wave forms can disrupt the natural frequencies of healthy cells and organs and create pain, fatigue, feelings of misalignment and low energy. Somadome incorporates the use of Biosyntonie ceramic tiles, which use a proprietary design to transform these unnatural waveforms into forms more like those found in nature.

Sound
The Somadome uses binaural beats in guided and unguided tracks to achieve beneficial states associated with your session goals.Binaural beats use varying inaudible frequencies to help guide our minds into brain states achieved during meditation. J ust as Tibetan monks use singing bowls, gongs, and other instruments to help access meditative states, modern technology has perfected these binaural beat frequencies, making their benefits obtainable to anyone searching for peace and mental clarity.

Color
The dome structure gives the illusion of infinite space, immersing you into an illuminated pod of colors that coordinate with your session goals. Color therapy is based on the idea that colors influence mood. While guests may not know the science behind color therapy, most will relate to the idea that color can impact feelings. Wearing a red sweater one may feel bold, energetic. Walking into a light blue room, one may feel calm, serene. Color therapy leverages this understanding to promote wellbeing.

Using colors and light to heal is an age-old technique, premised on the idea that the colors of the spectrum of visible light have specific beneficial health properties. Contemporary research shows that light helps regulate and control the autonomic nervous system and production of melatonin and cortisol, two hormones critical to health and wellness. With the option to select a single color of light or cycle through the whole spectrum, the Somadome provides an environment conducive to the gentle and positive health effects of being immersed in light.

Maximize Results

Before Your Session
Prepare for your Somadome session however you wish. Some people might want to unwind by going for a walk around the block, others will know that they’ll be able to drop in as soon as they sit down. Comfortable clothing is recommended but not required. Save meals for after you meditation.

Recommended Frequency
You can use the Somadome at any time. Sessions will leave you feeling relaxed, replenished or recharged, depending on the session chosen. It is important to have a consistent practice when it comes to meditation and mindfulness. A daily meditation practice can be lifechanging! People who do multiple sessions per week have the best results in their practice. Whenever you need a quiet space or feel like you need an appointment to hold you accountable to meditate, then we recommend that you use the Somadome!

After Your Session
A gratitude practice is a great way to round out your meditation session. As you go back out into the world, remember to be kind to yourself and continue your meditation practice at home in between Somadome visits.

Considerations

The good news is that meditation is safe for everyone! If you have epilepsy or severe heart problems, you may want to ask your physician about using bianural beats, even though adverse reactions are extremely rare.

FAQs

Which track should I choose?

Somadome offers different meditation tracks, each focusing on a specific need. There are tracks to help you get focused in the morning, tracks to revitalize midday, and tracks to relax you in the evening. Please choose the track that resonates with your needs at the current moment, as our needs change with our mood. Those new to meditation may prefer a track that includes verbal guidance, while others may like an unguided track with just ambient music. All tracks include binaural beats.

Will it make me tired?

Even if you fall asleep, people consistently report emerging refreshed and renewed; returning to work or your workout with added energy and focus, enjoying life with an enhanced feeling of calm, clarity & inner resonance.

How frequently do you have to meditate, or use binaural beats to have an effect?

It depends on the effect you are looking for, but for anxiety you could see a difference within even a single session. Programs of 20-minutes per day has been shown to reduce pain sensitivity and reception after only 5 days. Since there is so much reasonable expectation for overlap between meditation and binaural beats, we think Somadome is ideal for the person who believes they are too busy to fit meditation into their life, or does not feel they have a space in their home or workplace where meditation is possible.
